The 5 Handguns I Didn’t Buy In 2018 Part 1
Honestly, there are lots of guns I didn’t buy in 2018. Lots and lots. But there were some that I was really looking forward to this year and after spending a little time with them either at the range or simply in a shop, my mind was changed enough that any interest was lost. It’s like they had told me they were liberals. I just couldn’t waste time with them.
Mostly the reasons are just small, innocuous details that mattered just enough. However some, like ridiculous delays and serious performance questions were enough to just straight up avoid.
Let’s start at the beginning, but mind you, these are not ranked in any way.
Number 1. Sig Sauer P365
It’s just another micro pistol meant to solve a problem that really doesn’t exist. I completely understand wanting something easy to conceal, but that problem has been solved many times over (Glock 26, 27 anyone?). But there was way too much hype surrounding this silly gun. I could link to a certain video from someone who I generally respect and hold in high regard, who really kind of spazzed out about this thing.
It’s a single stack 9mm that holds 10+1 with an optional 12+1. So what? The bore height is a mile high, it feels very awkward in my hand, it’s just another and more of the same. This wasn’t revolutionary in any way. Overall it was simply a hard pass.
